WorshipWorship is at the center of the faith life of any Christian Community.
It is in worship that the community acknowledges who we are and whose we are.
We acknowledge that we are all recepients of the grace of God through Jesus Christ
and that God calls us into the world as the Body of Christ to minister in God's name,
to spread the Gospel and to make Disciples.
![]() A central part of worship at West Nashville UMC is
the celebration of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
The Table of the Lord is a powerful symbol of who we are called to be in this world.
When we gather around the table we ask that God make us
"one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to the world."
We celebrate an open table.
Christ is the host of the sacrament and would turn no one away.
Worship at West Nashville UMC is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles.
Contemporary music is sung along with the oldest hymns of the tradition.
On any given Sunday, Bluegrass music accompanied by a fiddle might be followed by Bach played on one of the few remaining pipe organs in Nashville (See Historic Pipe Organs of Tennessee for information on our pipe organ).
Some come dressed in their Sunday best, others dress more casually.
But all come seeking to hear the Word of God for their lives and to acknowledge what God has done, and is doing, in their lives and through this comunity of faith.
Worship begins at
10:30 AM every Sunday.
*Simultaneous translation services are available each week,
translating various elements of the service from English to Spanish.*
